The Good Day Grant
$250to one winter athlete who's going for it.
Good for entry fees, coaching, race licences, training camps, gas to the hill. No purchase, no strings, no posting required. We send it straight to you, or to your club if you'd rather.

Why a goggle company is handing out cash
We're a small crew in Edmonton. We started Good Day Optics in 2022 on one belief: even on bad days, there's still good to find. For a lot of us, the hill is where we found it.
We also know what a season costs. Race fees, a coach, a training block, a week at a camp, the drive there and back. It adds up fast, and it adds up fastest for the athletes who are just getting good.
So this winter we're putting $250 toward one of them. Not a sponsorship. Nobody has to post, tag, or wear anything. Take the money and go have a good day. If this lands the way we hope, we'll do it again, and open it up to summer athletes too.
Who can apply
- Skiers and snowboarders, any discipline. Alpine, freestyle, freeride, park, cross-country, biathlon, ski cross, boardercross, adaptive. If it happens on snow, it counts.
- Any age. Under 18? A parent, guardian or coach applies for you.
- Canada or the US. Most of our community is in Western Canada, but the grant is open across both countries.
- Training or competing this winter. You don't need results. You need a plan.
What we're looking for
- Heart over podiums. Tell us why this season matters to you, not where you're ranked.
- A real plan for the money. Entry fees for a provincial series. A coaching block. The camp you were going to skip.
- Someone who shows up for other people. The teammate who waxes everyone's skis. The kid who shovels the start gate. That person.
How it works
- Apply, or nominate someone, by October 31. Five minutes, a few honest answers. No essay required.
- We read every single one. Real people on our team, not a random draw and not a like count.
- We announce the winner November 6. The money goes out the same week by e-transfer or PayPal, to the athlete or to their club.

- Your name, email and city
- Sport, discipline, and your team or club
- Your age (under 18: a parent or guardian applies, with their name and email)
- What you're training or competing for this winter
- What $250 would go toward
- Optional: a link to a clip or your Instagram. We like seeing you ride.

The fine print, kept short
- One grant of $250 CAD this round. If we get more good applications than we can stand to turn down, we may add another.
- The Good Day Optics team picks the winner based on the application. It's not a draw, and decisions are final.
- Open to residents of Canada and the United States. Applicants under 18 apply through a parent or guardian.
- No purchase necessary. Buying from us, or not, has zero effect on your application.
- If you win, we'll ask before we share your name or story, and we'll tell it your way.
